Solutions for specific business processes
The SolveXia service is a generalised platform that can be used to automate a wide variety of processes. The common attributes of the processes that we automate for clients are:
- They use multiple files and data sources - often in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, text or XML file format,
- They have many steps that involve data verification, calculation, sorting, aggregation and matching
- They need to send the outputs of these processes to people for review and/or distribution
- The cost of human error in these processes can be significant (e.g. cut and paste errors that drop decimal points, etc...)
- They must be able to reproduce or explain historical results (either for audit, compliance, or just confidence)
- They are repeated every quarter, month, week or day
- They produce information that is important to the organisation - ether for business management or reporting purposes
Below is a sample of processes that we can address. This is not an exhaustive list, but it does provide a sense of where our service can be applied.
Weekly sales reports – with data sourced from multiple administration systems. Information is provided by sales channel, product type, actual vs budget vs previous year |
Monthly actuarial valuation of life insurance policies – data prepared, checked and reserves calculated on an actuarial system, reducing the time spent each month by 75% |
Commission reconciliation - calculating the commission overrides paid by airlines to travel agencies based on detailed flight information |

Production of monthly accounts by an accounting firm that services offshore reinsurers. Sources information from 4 different accounting systems, maps these to consistent account names and produces reports for the Regulator and tax authorities |

Preparing NGERS reports on carbon emission – Readings relating to carbon emission are taken in mines and recorded in SolveXia’s parameterised screen of variables. These are electronically submitted each month to head office with automatic reminders sent to mines that fail to submit data on time. Head office receives a single, accumulated list of all readings and applies the pre-defined process to rapidly reconfigure the data into a format ready for submission to government |
Control of capital calculations – An insurance company creates and runs hundreds of economic scenarios and stochastic models each quarter to calculate capital requirements. By reducing manual intervention in dealing with large numbers of files, the risk of error has been cut substantially |
Merging financial data from multiple retail outlets – Daily figures relating to revenue and expenses are electronically submitted by over 400 outlets to a head office that automatically reconfigures the data into a unified format ready for directly inputting into their financial accounts |
Merging of medical records – Extracting information from Medication Charts and Operation Reports and placing them real-time in the Patient Record so that all 3 sources of data are readily available from one document. Automatically keeps specialists, GPs and pharmacists updated with patient changes by email and SMS |
Merging data from the legacy systems of a bank – Data from each of the bank’s legacy systems is extracted and made available as a common output from the SolveXia platform. Instant analysis of the output is performed and messages are automatically sent to all parties that fall outside a pre-defined range of acceptable performance |
Streamlining the manual processes performed by a custodian of financial assets – The multiple steps that are manually performed to ensure that updates to client balances are correct have been recreated in the software. Frequent data integrity steps have been incorporated to raise confidence in the accuracy of all reported numbers. Flow charts, complete with all step dependencies, are used by operators and managers for end-to-end visibility of entire processes |
